Strategic ICT Advisory and Architecture
A large Commonwealth institution needed a practical enterprise architecture capability and executable digital strategy to guide modernisation across multiple agencies and operational domains.
What we did
EmberPoint established a formal enterprise architecture practice informed by TOGAF principles and integrated governance processes. The team developed enterprise architecture standards, operating models, governance boards, architecture repositories and strategic review processes aligned to portfolio delivery and investment decisions.
The engagement also included development of digital strategy inputs, maturity assessments, cloud governance models, standards libraries and future-state architecture patterns covering identity, networking, integration and secure access.
What it delivered
The organisation established a central mechanism for ICT prioritisation, design assurance and strategic alignment across multiple divisions and agencies. Architecture maturity progressed significantly within twelve months, supported by transparent governance, reusable standards and enterprise-wide visibility of technology lifecycle risk.
The work contributed directly to major ICT rationalisation outcomes, including more than $1 million annually in savings and cost avoidance through retirement of legacy platforms and consolidation of services.
Why it matters
Strategy and architecture only create value when they remain connected to delivery reality. EmberPoint’s approach focuses on governance, decision-making and implementation pathways that allow transformation programs to progress under operational, financial and assurance pressure.
